Sure Thing Music Publishing is a joint venture with Red Brick Songs / Modern Works Music Publishing that offers administrative and co-publishing agreements with worldwide collection.

As a boutique music publishing company, Sure Thing is uniquely positioned to offer all the services of a major music publisher, while providing a personalized, songwriter focused approach to creative services and catalog rights management. Representing multiple genres, Sure Thing collects global publishing royalties through a network of established sub-publishers (such as Concord and Peer Music) to ensure no earnings go unclaimed. Along with pitching for sync placements in film and television, Sure Thing specializes in facilitating collaborations and writing sessions with artists, songwriters, and producers. 

Sure Thing was founded by Kent Goolsby. A 12+ year veteran of the music publishing industry, Kent has held positions at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, BMG Music Publishing, and the Nashville independent publisher Modern Works Music Publishing.

Kent has signed and developed writers and artists with releases on Warner Music Nashville, Rounder Records, New West Records, Bloodshot Records, and ATO Records – as well as many others. Previous signings have included iHeartRadio’s current Best New Artist Giovannie and the Hired Guns (representing their 2022 #1 Billboard Rock & Alternative track “Ramon Ayala”), nobigdyl (representing his 2022 GMA Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year “King Jesus”), Joshua Ray Walker (recently making his Tonight Show debut) and Rounder Records’ John R. Miller. Kent has also worked with talents such as Grammy winner Molly Tuttle (Best Bluegrass Album for ‘Crooked Tree’) and Grammy nominated Kai Welch (Best American Roots Song for “Ceiling to the Floor”).
